Loose Change explains new realities and ignored realities of the September 11th attacks. Since the documentary is based on a conspiracy theory, many new realities are shown. Revealing new realities means, “to reveal new or ignored realities by showing people, events, or levels of reality we have not seen before, because they have been excluded either from our social experience or from our experiences in narrative film” (Corrigan, Timothy 289). One of the new realities is the way the twin tower fell, many think it was actually explosives. The directors also show that the government has conspired before in Cuba. Loose Change also shows that after the September 11th attacks, people were not warned about the asbestos that is in the air. Loose Change shows many different sides to September 11th.

When the twin towers fell, the government blamed it on the airplanes fuel, but, “There are some problems with that theory; it does not fit the observed facts: It cannot account for the total failure of the immense core columns, nor the too-rapid-to-blame-it-all-on-gravity collapse times, nor the huge energy surplus, nor the nanosizes of the 'dust' particles. The building does not fall when its supposed to, and it also does not fall the way its supposed to. The buildings are supposed to fall inward, but they collapse to the side. In the documentary Loose Change, interviewers who were in the twin towers at the time of the attack, said they it sounded like bombs exploding. Which supports some of the conspiracy theory. It was suspicious when the twin towers fell, but many over building who have been hit with the same power stood standing. Also the north tower that was hit second, fell first. While none of these theories have been tested to be true, they all put questions on the September 11th attacks. (Loose Change)

In the beginning of Loose Change, it shows how the government has conspired before. March 13, 1962, Operation Northwood was created to get the United States military in Cuba. To get the military into Cuba they would start terrorist attacks.
“Code named Operation Northwoods, the plan, which had the written approval of the Chairman and every member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called for innocent people to be shot on American streets; for boats carrying refugees fleeing Cuba to be sunk on the high seas; for a wave of violent terrorism to be launched in Washington, D.C., Miami, and elsewhere. People would be framed for bombings they did not commit; planes would be hijacked. Using phony evidence, all of it would be blamed on Castro, thus giving Lemnitzer and his cabal the excuse, as well as the public and international backing, they needed to launch their war” "OPERATION NORTHWOODS: US PLANNED FAKE TERROR ATTACKS ON CITIZENS TO CREATE SUPPORT FOR CUBAN WAR." If the government could conspire to do this once, couldn’t they again? But this time for a different reason, fuel resources. In Operation Norwood, many innocent people would have been harmed, rumors would have been started, poser would pose as Cuban terrorist. It also showed how the government wanted to use airplanes for terrorist attacks too. This evidence shows that the government thought of it once, why not again. (Loose Change)

Another shocking new reality and ignored is what happened to the people who helped after the twin towers fell. Many were told that the amount of asbestos in the air was low, so there was not really a reason to worry. “The Environmental Protection Agency maintains that the level of asbestos found in World Trade Center dust was low. Other federal, state and city agencies, as well as many independent doctors and health experts agree that the risk for disease from asbestos exposure in the community near the World Trade Center site is very low. However, there have already been cases of death due to asbestos-caused diseases.” "Asbestos and 9/11 Mesothelioma and Asbestos Exposure." But there were many other toxins in the air that people were not warned about including “fiberglass, pulverized concrete, lead, mercury, cadmium, dioxins, and PCB's” "Asbestos and 9/11 Mesothelioma and Asbestos Exposure." But still the EPA did not warn the public of the true dangers in the air, instead they down played it. However, the White House Council on Environmental Quality urged the EPA to ““add reassuring statements and delete cautionary ones” in its press release. There are many new and ignored realities of the September 11th attacks. The way the towers fell is one way. How could the towers fall like that if many other towers went through the same ordeal and stood standing? Then there have been other conspiracies that have occurred in the United States, which means it could have happened again. Then the public was lied too. They were not told how bad the air really was, which ended up killing many people, and is still killing more people today.
